{"id":1882,"date":"2013-06-26T05:45:22","date_gmt":"2013-06-26T05:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/circles-of-blue.winchcombe.org\/?page_id=1882"},"modified":"2013-06-26T06:07:09","modified_gmt":"2013-06-26T06:07:09","slug":"why-circles-of-blue","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/circles-of-blue.winchcombe.org\/index.php\/about\/why-circles-of-blue\/","title":{"rendered":"Why &#8216;Circles of Blue&#8217;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"alignright entry-meta\" style=\"padding-top: 5px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-217\" title=\"Circles of Blue\" src=\"http:\/\/circles-of-blue.winchcombe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/circles-of-blue-100px.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/div>\n<p>So why Circles of Blue?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not because we&#8217;re sad about anything, although Lord knows we&#8217;ve had our moments trying to get our heads around the life changer known as type 1 diabetes.<br \/>\nThe Blue Circle is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.diabetesbluecircle.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">internationally recognised symbol of diabetes<\/a> so that&#8217;s one reason for the name.<\/p>\n<p>This blog will not just be about one person with type 1 but how it affects the family, our circle. I tried to come up with something clever focusing around the word &#8216;family&#8217; or &#8216;d&#8217; for diabetes but never felt happy with any of my ideas until I thought about Circles of Blue. That&#8217;s it, nothing special.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 93px; margin: 0 auto;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"circles-of-blue-100px.png\" src=\"http:\/\/circles-of-blue.winchcombe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/circles-of-blue-100px.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p>And the image? For the modern art lovers: the first circle is the international symbol for diabetes; it fades away into the other four which represent the four members of our family as we&#8217;re affected at different intensities at different times; the fading represents the fact that some activities are not upset or affected by diabetes but it&#8217;s always there in the background.
